Explain

This is "The Nata(hatchet) of the study" of the Swordsmith Shigeyoshi Iwasaki that Heiji Nakaya hit this product before.

When Nakaya was the outside disciple of swordsmith, the Shigeyoshi old man told me,“Would you support Nakaya somehow? ". Munemasa-kikaku(plan) started to move by this word.

The reference product is a Nata(hatchet) of the Fuji model of Iwasaki. I wrote a drawing of it. It was the hatchet of the Iwasaki that was produced by the cause. It was the first of a study created for ascetic practices of Nakaya.

However, I received contact from him last year like this… "I already stopped making of Nata(hatchet)" .

It did not depend on advanced age and seemed to feel a limit in physical strength. There was the hope from a conventional customer. So, I asked several blacksmith about making the Nata(Hatchet) ,but they said they have never hit Kojitetu(old ground iron) or even if they could hit, it’s almost failure.

But, I was relieved about the answer from Kitae Matsumoto. So, I sent the drawing and the forged iron which I got from Sanjyo-seisakusyo was prepareing for product of Kojitetsu(old groud iron).

It was born after one year. This is “Iwasaki Kojitetsu「Kurouchi-kaku」180mm”.

The skill of Kaji will not be inferior rather than Nakaya even if it could be possible to be surperiore.

This is such a great Nata(hatchet). The price is cheaper than Nakaya in spite of high quality. 藤(Tou) polished it, and I also polished it as extra special using The Touken-utigumori whetstone for sword and the Kyoto natural stone.

I think that you will be satisfied.
