Hirokuni HIROKI


Born in 1948 (Shōwa 23)

In 1948, He was born in Fukuoka. He received an initial lesson in father, Swordsmith Hirokuni Hiroki from early childhood.

In 1965, he became a disciple of Swordsmith・“Seihou Smitani”, a national treasure.

In 1968, He became a certified official of the agency for cultural affairs.

In 1973, independent. Career; In 1979, He win a Dark-blue Ribbon Medal.

In 1985, He was ordered production of the removal of a shrine dedicated treasure in a year of anniversary of Ise-Jingu Shrine.

In 1994 He dedicate it in Kamakura Hachiman shrine and forging.

In 2005 and in 2006, Hi is ordered dedicated treasure production of Ise-jingu Grand Shrine. History of awarded prize; In 1968, he received the first prize at the new sword maker exhibition.

In 1986 He received the kanzan award, In 1987 the Mainichi newspaper company prize. In 1988, the Japan sword Preservation Society Award, In 1991, the Commissioner of the agency for cultural affairs, In 1992, the Japan sword Preservation Society Award, In 1993, the kanzan prize, In 1996, the chairman of the all Japan sword Association, and the 1996 assignment “Mukansa” (not submitted to the selecting committee).
