Explain

The piece is a Japanese razor made of tamahagane by Chiyozuru Korehide, an extraordinary Japanese swordsmith and toolmaker of Maiji to Showa period, often described as a once-in-a-century genius.

This particular piece was made when he was 81 years old.

It is also an exceptionally rare piece forged for the master craftsman Kousuke Iwasaki, known as the father of Shigeyoshi Iwasaki.(it was not made for commercial use.)

You may know that Kousuke Iwasaki successfully made a Japanese razor from tamahagane in 1954.)

This piece is the one that Korehide privately gave Kosuke while they were in contact.

It comes with a letter from Korehide. (You can see the pictures on the website.)

However, due to misunderstanding by Shigeyoshi, the letter was actually for another work from the same period.

When Shigeyoshi realized the misunderstanding, he sent us the letter explaining the circumstances and his apology.

This razor passed down to us by Shigeyoshi. Because our president and Shigeyoshi were very close friendship for decads.

This extremely famous piece by Chiyozuru Korehide has many forgeries. To avoid such risks, we strongly recommended purchasing from a trusted and well established store.
